The Visiting Nurse Association of Somerset Hills (VNA) is introducing the Ask the VNA program to residents of Morris and Somerset Counties this month. This user friendly, telephone service will support seniors, caregivers and individuals seeking information on resources available to the elderly.

A phone call to the Ask the VNA Helpline: 1-800-886-2253 will connect the consumer with a VNA healthcare professional. As specialists in home healthcare, hospice and community health services, the VNA professional will work with the caller to answer questions, explore options, provide guidance and make program referrals for concerns such as:

• what care options are available for an elderly family member or friend
  
• how to handle long distance care giving
  
• when to consider hospice
  
• how to deal with the loss of a loved one
  
• how to balance the stress of caring for your family and your parents
