Chief Executive Officer
Dan has been involved with the VNA of Somerset Hills for several years as a Board member, Chairman of the Board, and now as President and Chief Executive Officer. He brings the organization more than 25 years of broad-based experience as an operating general manager, business combination specialist, and senior strategist for both high-growth and established businesses. Over the course of his career, Dan has led performance improvement initiatives to grow revenues, reduce costs and improve operations. In addition to serving as a CEO and as an adviser to Boards of Directors for numerous companies in the consumer product, retail, business service and wholesale distribution industries, he has also been active in the banking, private equity, and management consulting industries with McKinsey & Company, Alvarez & Marsal, Citicorp, and The Deerpath Group. Dan received a bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from Williams College, and holds a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard University, Graduate School of Business.
JUDY ADAMCSIK, RN, MSN
Vice President of Operations
Judy oversees the VNA of Somerset Hills’ home health, hospice and rehabilitation services, which includes our team of nurses and therapists. With the VNA since 1999, Judy has held positions of increased responsibility including Staff Nurse, Referral Center Manager and Nursing Team Supervisor. Judy has over 30 years of nursing experience which includes prior hospital staff nurse and supervisory positions. She holds an MSN from the University of Phoenix and BA in Nursing from Bloomfield College.
NICK KOUYIALIS, CPA
Vice President of Finance and Business
Nick brings the VNA over 30 years of experience in strategic, financial and operational management, including 12 years as Director of Finance at VNA Health Group. His knowledge provides essential guidance for ensuring the financial efficiency and long-term sustainability of the organization. In addition to overseeing all aspects of our accounting, budgets, and reporting, Nick works closely with other members of the leadership team to make sure the VNA is compliant with all regulatory requirements. A Certified Public Accountant, Nick is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants, and Government Affairs Committee of the Home Care Association of New Jersey.
MARIE SPERBER, MS
Vice President of Business Development and Philanthropy
Marie oversees all VNA of Somerset Hills sales, marketing, fund development, communications and referral center activities. She brings the organization a background rich in corporate and nonprofit leadership experience. Prior to assuming this role at the VNA, she served as Sales & Marketing Manager and Manager of Community Relations and Volunteers. Previous work in the corporate sector includes Director of Corporate Publicity for Kellogg Corporation. Currently on the Bedminster Board of Health and United Way Women’s Health Initiative Philanthropy Committee, she has also served on the Somerset Hills School Board, as Benardsville School PTA President and on the Bernardsville Board of Health, Planning Committee and Open Space Committee. Her educational background includes a BS in Nutrition and Dietetics from Drexel University, MS in Nutrition Science from Penn State University and graduate work in organizational and corporate communications.
RITA TRUEX, MSN, RN
Director of Quality Care Management
Rita focuses her efforts on ensuring that we consistently provide our patients with an exceptional care and service experience. Prior to assuming her current role in 2016, she served as Manager of Staff Education, the position she held since joining the agency in 2011. Previously, Rita spent eleven years at VNA Health Group where she held a number of roles of increasing responsibility. Active in the professional community, Rita has made presentations at VNAA Annual Meetings in 2011 and 2013, currently serves on the Home Care Association of New Jersey Quality Committee, and has been an Adjunct Clinical Faculty member at Seton Hall University and St. Paul’s School of Nursing. She received a BSN and MSN in Nursing Informatics from Thomas Edison State College. Additional credentials include Certified Care Transitions Coach and Certified Integrated Chronic Care Manager.
DEBRA HOPPEL, RN
Director of Hospice Care
Deb is passionate about the benefits and importance of hospice care, and has been expanding her knowledge and experience in the field since college. Part of the VNA family since 2005, she served as a home health and hospice field nurse and Home Care Manager before being appointed Associate Director of Hospice in 2013. Prior to joining the VNA, she worked in the home care and hospice program at Muhlenberg Hospital. At Somerset Medical Center, she gained valuable experience as both a hospice and palliative care nurse and as Patient Advocate. She received a BSN from DeSales University in 1981.
