VNA Rummage Sale and Far Hills Share Decades of Partnership
Since their first fundraising event at the Far Hills Horse Show in 1921, the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) of Somerset Hills has shared a successful partnership with the Borough of Far Hills. Every May and October, the VNA Rummage Sale takes place at the Far Hills Fairgrounds, drawing thousands of attendees to the area from across the tristate region and beyond. Thanks to cooperation between the VNA and borough officials, proceeds from the Rummage Sale benefit patients, families and caregivers through the home care agency’s home health, hospice care, adult day and wellness clinics, and health education programs.
“As Mayor of the Borough of Far Hills, I am very proud of our long standing relationship with the Visiting Nurse Association of Somerset Hills and to support the good work you do,” said Mayor Paul J. Vallone, M.D, Borough of Far Hills during a pre-sale visit with volunteers and VNA staff at the Fairgrounds. “I want to commend all the Volunteers who give of their time and contribute greatly to the success of this event; and to all the nurses and caregivers of the VNA who provide necessary medical services to those in need and do so in a kind, caring and compassionate manner. We in Far Hills look forward to supporting the VNA, now and in the future.”.
“Thanks to Mayor Vallone and the support of other Borough officials and departments, the VNA Rummage Sale remains a biannual tradition among merchandise donors, shoppers and volunteers. Through even the most inclement weather, we can feel confident that the Borough is focused on the safety, security and enjoyment of all involved with the sale and in the local community,” said Dan Powell, President and CEO, VNA of Somerset Hills.
